Proper feeding strongly affects the growth of the fish and is key in the operation of a modern fish farm. AKVA group’s conveyor feeding system is one of the most reliable and efficient feeding systems for land-based fish farming operations.

The system has been installed on more than 100 sites worldwide.

A key feature of the feeding system is the software - FAO (Feed Assistant Online). FAO gives our customers the ability to control feed portions and feed types individually for each fish tank. In addition, it provides the opportunity of selecting the right feed type or pellet size making optimal feeding profiles to match fish size and life stage. This assures an optimal productivity at all times.

Key functionality:

• Central control
  The conveyor feeding system is designed with PC Based software that controls feed portions, feed types and feed profiles.
• Sectionized distribution
  Feed distribution can be sectionized for each tank hall minimizing the distance of feed transportation from silos to tanks. Thus, wear and tear is minimized too.
• Low running costs
  The feeding system uses 0.75 kWh on average. A similar air blower typical uses around 15 kWh.
• Dust-free operation
  The amount of dust is almost down to zero due to the gentle feed handling. This avoids mold growth and improves the working environment.
• Small portions of feed
  The system can dose portions of feed down to 10 gram at any given time of day.
• Feed conversion
  The system transports the feed gently securing a minimum of feed loss and thus saving money.
• Dosing range
  The feed is spread evenly across the fish tank making it possible for all fish to get to the feed. 
• Maintenance
  The feeding system is very easy to maintain. A typical spare part package for 2 years costs less than 1500 Euro.
