As sites become more exposed, greater demands are placed on barge construction, stability and structural design. Our feed barges are developed to operate with movement – not against it – ensuring stable operation even in demanding conditions.

The barges are available in both steel and concrete and are developed and certified through analysis, testing and operational experience. Several models are approved for exposed sites up to Hs 6.5 and designed for remote operation when weather conditions limit access.

This is achieved through:

  • structures with high stability and predictable movements
  • designs optimised for the interaction between waves, currents and wind
  • structural design for high load capacity and continuous operation
  • solutions adapted for remote operation when the site is inaccessible

AKVA group

For fish farmers, this means feed barges that provide a safe working environment, stable feeding and high uptime – even on days when the site must be operated remotely. The result is better control, lower risk and more predictable operations over time, regardless of material choice and site exposure.
