In 2023, AKVA group delivered two high-tech hybrid feed barges to PHILOSOFISH SA. The delivery marked a new milestone in the long-standing collaboration between AKVA group and one of Greece’s leading aquaculture companies.
The barges were developed through close cooperation between AKVA group and PHILOSOFISH and are specifically tailored to the requirements of Mediterranean aquaculture. The solutions are designed to support increased production, more efficient operations and improved sustainability in the region.
The hybrid feed barges are equipped with the AKVA Connect feeding system and a hybrid battery solution. This enables emission-free operation during normal use, with reduced noise levels and lower energy costs compared with traditional solutions. The delivery represents the first hybrid feed barges from AKVA group in Greece and sets a new standard for barge operations in the region.
The barges are located at the Chiliomili site in Agios Seraphim and the Kofinas site south-west of Evia.
