Customer: Kaldvik
Delivery: AC600VR feed barge
Location: Iceland
Delivery date: September 2025

AKVA group has sold the AC600VR feed barge to Kaldvik, a leading aquaculture company in Iceland. The barge is developed for exposed sites and demanding weather conditions along Iceland’s rugged coastline, with a focus on safe, reliable and efficient operation.

The AC600VR is designed for a significant wave height of up to 6.5 metres and features a V-shaped hull for enhanced seakeeping performance. This design ensures stable behaviour in rough seas, efficient wave penetration and protection of technical equipment under demanding conditions.

The barge is optimised for remote operation from shore, with solutions that ensure high availability of the feeding system even when weather conditions limit physical access to the site. The design places particular emphasis on protecting equipment and maintaining stable operation over time.

The AC600VR is configured for flexible feeding, including waterborne feeding, and can be adapted to different operating setups and site requirements. Kaldvik has previously taken delivery of two similar barges from AKVA group, and its experience with those installations played a key role in the decision to invest in a new solution.
