AKVA air dome

Predictability, reliability, and control

AKVA air dome PE1 is a new and improved dome solution for the Nautilus concept. This solution provides farmers with better control over feeding, the air pocket, and buoyancy, while also reducing operational costs.

Benefits of the newly developed AKVA air dome

  • Stable and self-righting design: Eliminates the need for stabilizing buoys and ensures the fish constant access to a large, stable air surface.
  • Gentle on the fish: All rope connections and bolt fittings are placed above the net roof, making the transition from the net roof to the air pocket completely free of obstacles and sharp edges that could harm the fish.
  • Efficient feeding: A patent-pending feed distribution chamber ensures even feed distribution regardless of the dome's tilt angle. The feed outlets feature flexible "feed sleeves" that guide the fish away from the net roof and dome construction during feeding.
  • Flexible solutions: Feed can be distributed either through the dome (⌀ 4m) or via extended feed hoses through the dome net (⌀ 8m).
  • Better control: Facilitates camera monitoring in the air pocket, providing full oversight and safer operations.
  • Cost-effective: A smaller construction simplifies handling during installation and deployment, reduces transport costs, and facilitates storage with the option to stack the domes. The new dome also has a significantly longer lifespan.

AKVA air dome provides stability, security, and efficiency under all conditions and represents a significant improvement for the aquaculture industry.
